According to an advert in the Morning Advertiser of 12 May, 1866, Charles Neil Mortimer was in the cast of "East Lynne: or the divorced wife", at the Royal Grecian Theatre, City Road, Shoreditch (sole proprietor, B.O Conquest).
The cast also included "Messrs. James, Jackson and Gillett, and Mesdames Harriet Weston, Mandlebert and Atkinson".
The play was to be followed by "The Poor of the London Streets", with Mr A Rayner.
