A Play for London I have just finished reading the script of a new three-act comedy by John McNally, called "Paper Chase", which, I understand. will be produced at Harrogate on February, 22 under the banner of Millar and Martyn. The play was originally styled ' Strictly Illegal," but the new title, which very apt. was eventually decided upon. The motif is allied to the " joyous crook ' type, with plenty of action and an unexpected denouement, and it should provide excellent entertainment. Sutton Vane, the author-actor, read the play, and was so impressed that he insisted on playing a part—that of a debonair, dudish, sort of fellow who has much to do with the development of the plot. Mr Vane is therefore self-cast! Also in the company are Arthur Grenville, Muriel Aked, Winifred Dennis, Cyril E Cobb, Ernest E. Cove, Frank Tennant. Charles Mortimer. John McNally and Paula Trevanion. |
