"The History of Mr Polly" was broadcast on 2 October, 1959. Interesting was the fact this was written by H.G.Wells, who had an affair with Rebecca West, writer, producing a son in 1914. Rebecca West was an old friend of Greta Wood. William Burdon-Taylor remembers meeting Miss West at her flat in London in the 1960's, accompanying his mother, Rosalind, and his grandmother, Greta Wood. Furthermore, the producer of this production was Douglas Allen, again, an old friend of Greta Wood and Charles Mortimer.
